Quelam Tran-Perez
Pronouns: She/her
My name is Quelam and I’m from Oakland, California. I graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor’s in Neuroscience (and a minor in Italian Studies!). I’m currently working in the Brown Lab at MIT’s Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, where I’m investigating the behavioral and electrophysiological effects of various anesthetic drugs in mice in order to create dose-response curves and overall enhance our understanding of these drugs’ pharmacological profiles, which are surprisingly not well known. Broadly, I’m interested in all things related to learning and memory and find consciousness and perception to be particularly interesting fields of neuroscience. Outside of the lab, I enjoy cooking, crafting, catching up with friends, and exploring the Boston restaurant/food scene (I’m a big foodie at heart).
