Naija Barakat

Naija Barakat is from Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from Washington and Lee University in May 2024 with a degree in Neuroscience. As a PiNBAC trainee, she works in Dr. Isaac Chiu’s lab and studies the role of gasdermins in neurodegeneration in a mouse model of frontotemporal dementia. Outside of lab, she enjoys reading, baking, and play volleyball.
