Mamoona Faryal
Pronouns: She/Her
My name is Mamoona Faryal, and I am from California’s Central Valley. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology, with an emphasis in Neurobiology, as well as minors in Public Policy and Data Science.
I will be joining the Polley Lab at Mass Eye and Ear to study the auditory system, specifically seeking to understand issues of sensory overload, including auditory hypersensitivity and phantom sounds. I am excited to be immersed in a neuroscience community with so many wonderful mentors and opportunities.
Outside of academics, I enjoy experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, both cooking and baking. I also enjoy going on long walks, sketching, and exploring bakeries.
