Emily Garcia

Pronouns: She/Her

A person with long curly dark hair and glasses stands outdoors in front of a leafy tree with yellow-green foliage, wearing a light-colored coat over a textured lavender sweater and smiling softly at the camera.

My name is Emily, and I am from Henderson, North Carolina. I recently graduated from Princeton University, where I majored in Neuroscience with a minor in Latin American Studies. I am ecstatic to join the Wilson Lab at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and work with the fruit fly Drosophila. Outside of neuroscience, I enjoy exploring new places and creating meaningful memories, whether by trying different restaurants, hiking new park trails, discovering local cafés, or joining communities that foster connection, growth, and belonging.
